As youngsters, Prince Derek and Princess Odette are compelled to spend their summers together by their widowed guardians, who trust that the two will in the long run begin to fall for each other and will get married, so their two kingdoms will be joined together. As youngsters and youths, Derek and Odette can’t stand each other, yet as youthful grown-ups they start to see each other from an alternate perspective and go gaga for each other. As a monster, Rothbart mortally wounds William, and grabs Odette then places her under a spell. Presently it is dependent upon Derek to rescue Odette by showing his undying love.
